Thanks to a Natural and Recreational Resource Grant from Yates County, an ADA-compliant sidewalk has been installed, connecting the parking area to the pavilion, and continuing on to a new landing area along Big Stream. This addition creates a safe and accessible route for all residents and visitors to enjoy the park’s natural beauty.

The peaceful landing spot offers a place to sit, relax, and take in the sights and sounds of nature along the stream.

A huge thank you to our Public Works team for their dedication and hard work in bringing this project to life! Their efforts are helping make Dundee a more inclusive and welcoming place for everyone.

Local Law Authorizing a real property tax levy in excess of the limit established by General Municipal Law (GML) §3-c.

            Notice is hereby given that at a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Dundee, County of Yates, State of New York, held at the Village Hall, 12 Union Street, Dundee, New York, on the 10th day of March 2026, at 7:00 p.m. the above referenced proposed Local Law was duly adopted.

            The effect will be to exempt the Village of Dundee from the so called “Tax Cap”, for the fiscal year 2025-2026, but not necessarily result in any tax increase.

The resolution, a summary of which is published herewith, was adopted on October 25, 2022 and is subject to permissive referendum in accordance with Section 9-900 of the Village Law.

        SUMMARY OF BOND RESOLUTION SUBJECT TO PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM

 A Bond Resolution adopted by the Village Board of the Village of Dundee, New York (the “Village”) on October 25, 2022 authorizes the issuance of bonds and other obligations to finance the cost of undertaking a project (the “Project”) consisting of the construction of improvements to the Village waste treatment system.   The estimated maximum cost of the Project is $19,298,000.   Pursuant to the Bond Resolution, the Village is authorized to issue up to $19,298,000, or such lesser amount as may be necessary, of serial bonds or any bond anticipation notes, including renewals of such notes and is further authorized to levy a tax to pay principal and interest on said obligations and apply, if and when available, state and/or federal assistance available or any revenues available for such purpose from any other source.  Undertaking the Project is approved.  The bonds and notes authorized by the Bond Resolution may be issued to the United States Department of Agriculture, Office of Rural Development, or any of its related offices or agencies, the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation under any of its revolving fund programs or any purchaser in accordance with the provisions of the Local Finance Law. The plan for the financing the cost of the Project shall be (i) the issuance of up $19,298,000, or such lesser amount as may be necessary, of serial bonds or any bond anticipation notes, including renewals of such notes, of the Village and (ii) the application of state and/or federal assistance available or any revenues available for such purpose from any other source.  Under the Local Finance Law, the Project has a period of probable usefulness of 40 years.  Such resolution shall be kept available for public inspection in the Village Clerk’s Office during regular business hours for thirty days following this publication.

 Please be advised, The Village of Dundee and the Town of Starkey, Each Having Been Served with a Copy of a Petition for Annexation Pursuant to Article 17 of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York, Have Set a Joint Public Hearing Thereon

            Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Dundee, County of Yates, State of New York, jointly with the Town Board of the Town of Starkey, County of Yates, State of New York will be held at the Village of Dundee Village Hall, 12 Union St., Dundee, New York, on the 14th day of April, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. upon the petition for the annexation into the Village of Dundee of premises consisting of 9.7 unimproved acres on the easterly side of Dundee-Himrod Road,  being tax map parcel no: 113.04-1-5.3 which premises are presently owned by Faith Baptist Church.

If approved by each Board the effect will be to permit annexation of the subject premises into the Village of Dundee.  Those premises are presently located within the Town of Starkey, outside the limits of the Village of Dundee.  The territory proposed to be annexed is contiguous to the northerly boundary line of the Village.

Village of Dundee will hold a public hearing on December 08, 2020 at 7:00pm at Village Hall, 12 Union Street, Dundee, NY 14837 for the purpose of hearing public comments on the Village of Dundee’s current Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project: CDBG Project number 340PR151-18, Village of Dundee Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades, $1,000,000.00.

The CDBG program is administered by the New York State Office of Community Renewal (OCR), and provides resources to eligible local governments for housing, economic development, public facilities, public infrastructure, and planning activities, with the principal purpose of benefitting low/moderate income persons.             The effect will be to exempt the Village of Dundee from the so called “tax cap” for the fiscal year 2026-2027, but not necessarily result in any tax increase.

Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Dundee, County of Yates, State of New York, jointly with the Town Board of the Town of Starkey, County of Yates, State of New York will be held at the Starkey Town Hall, 40 Seneca Street, Dundee, New York, on the 8th day of June, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. upon the petition for the annexation into the Village of Dundee of premises consisting of 2.366 unimproved acres on the west side of Edwina Street, being a part of tax map parcel no: 120.02-1-3 which premises are presently owned by Steven C. On Monday June 19, 2023 the Village of Dundee water department will begin flushing fire hydrants. Flushing will continue thru Friday June 23, 2023 and will be done between the hours of 10pm and 6am.

Please be advised that you may experience a drop in water pressure as well as some discoloration of the water during this process. The discoloration of the water is only temporary and does not indicate a problem with the water. If your water does become discolored, turn on an outside faucet to clear the water line. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Village of Dundee is currently seeking to hire a full time Public Works Maintenance Worker to work 40 hours per week starting at $19.00/hour with medical insurance, paid time off, and a retirement plan. June 1, 2023 will go to $20.00/hour and receive a $0.75 increase on anniversary date.

This is semi-skilled work involving responsibility for the efficient performance of a variety of public works repair and maintenance tasks. Possession of a commercial driver’s license is required. Don’t have a CDL, don’t sweat it, we will send you to driving school to get your CDL.
